DMAIC is an acronym for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. It is a problem-solving methodology used in Six Sigma, a process improvement methodology used in business and industry. DMAIC is used to improve an existing process by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in the process. The five phases of DMAIC are: Define the problem and establish the project goals; Measure the current performance of the process; Analyze the data to identify the root causes of the problem; Improve the process by implementing solutions; and Control the process to ensure the improvements are sustained.
